Education System Observatory

Education develops people and builds national capabilities.

Education shapes how we understand our surroundings, live together and take part in society. It also provides the tools to research, create and work. Assessing it must take into account both learning outcomes and real opportunities for access, retention and personal development.

The Education System Observatory sets out to examine the conditions that make learning possible: teacher training, infrastructure, student well-being, teaching resources and the relevance of academic programs. We pay particular attention to differences between regions and to the barriers that limit students’ educational pathways.

We are interested in the connection between education, science and production. Colombia needs to offer opportunities for its technicians, professionals and researchers to apply their knowledge and develop homegrown solutions. That link must preserve academic autonomy, well-rounded education and critical thinking.
